I like the Reacher novels where he travels to small towns in different states and gets rid of the bad guys. I got a kick out of Child's description of the bad guys driving his van with its loaded cargo along HI 3 in BC after picking it up in the port of Vancouver. Child describes this journey to its end where the driver uses a dirt road to cross the unmanned Sask/US border. Even in the cornfields of the American mid-West, Reacher finds farmers who need to be freed from the strong arm hold of a neighboring extortionist trucker family whom the farmers depend on to move their crops off the farm. This storyline is intermixed with human trafficking and sexual exploitation. Reacher, the good guy, does bad things to make right a situation gone rotten.
