Cars 2 is a sequel to the first Cars movie. With the old cast being present and new characters being introduced, this film has a much higher focus on Tow Mater, a lot more focus on action and a much better animation quality. The movie uses most of the same elements used for the creation of the world within Cars 1, and with addition of other elements such as weapons, spies, and bad gas. This means that the movie this time around, took a different type of approach, but generally still had the same theme as the previous one with friendship, but of course with a lot (A LOT) more action with it. What I mean by having the same approach towards friendship being the same is that the movie still is very heavily focused on McQueen's friendship with Mater. They encountered problems with McQueen finding Mater a bit embarrassing to show to other people, but they were able to later resolve such a thing. McQueen was able to later show that he no longer cares if he embarrasses and that he really values Mater as a valuable friend, with Mater showing his true worth by protecting his friend. This shows that friendship can sometimes be awkward but its generally a great thing and something to be kept. This makes it so watching it with a young one is really entertaining in that you can have fun with the action parts yourself while teaching said young one what the movie is truly about (me and my brother :}). Thus, like the previous Car 1 movie, I would recommend this as a family friendly movie. Rating: 5 @BookYourBooks of The Hamilton Public Library's Teen Review Board This movie is a part of the Cars trilogy (so far) and I have to say it is one of my favourites when it comes to animated Disney movies. The McQueen crew is back with a bang, but there’s more than just the racetrack in mind. When Mater enrolls McQueen in the World Grand Prix, it takes them all the way to Japan and has Mater feeling on top of the world. But like a typical hotshot, McQueen is embarrassed by Mater’s frank and outspoken ways and tries to tame him down. At the official Grand Prix party, Mater is pulled into the world of spies when an American spy gives him the intel that ultra-spies Finn McMissile and Holly need to bring down evil Professor Z. This is a movie about the importance of friends, family and the feeling of being with the people you can call home, as well as an action packed race against evil and race cars. A great family movie! @jewelreader of the Teen Review Board of the Hamilton Public Library
