I really enjoyed this book.
Eva, a young Jewish woman cannot come to terms with the death of her sister and hastily marries a man she barely knows to flee German and start over in the American southwest.
The author does a great job describing the lush richness of an upper-class family living in Berlin at the turn of the century and contrasting that with the harsh and brutal life of those trying to make a living in early Santa Fe, New Mexico.
