"It ain't cool being no jive turkey." If you grew up in the 80s, this probably will inspire nostalgia, mixed with sadness because Eddie Murphy used to be really funny. This is maybe his best role, as he's working with strong co-stars, a good director and a tightly written script. It's not as funny as contemporary comedies, but it's better written and directed with a clever premise. Look for Giancarlo "Gus from Breaking Bad" Esposito in the jail scene and Al Franken as a baggage handler. Director Landis did other beloved 80s movies like "The Blues Brothers," "Coming to America" (also with Murphy), "Three Amigos" and "An American Werewolf in London." And contrary to what another reviewer thought, the racial comedy/tensions still feel very much relevant.
